History
Deimos comes:
In the year 2344 astrological observatories on the edge of the Sol system picked up an unforseen flying object entering the solar system. The projectile had moved at hyperlight speeds and avoided detection by the deep space radar systems of the varying species of the galaxy. Klaxares (an allied alien species) geological experts would eventually work out that the projectile had come from the distant Andromeda Galaxy.
The projectile at the time was classified as "Deimos" by the crisis response team. Most of the human ships that could have helped were out of the solar system at the time, leaving Earth defenseless against the meteor. The trading mogul and shipping pioneer Amara Fon Draxus, possessed of excessive wealth, stepped up with her fleet of trading ships and set to the stars. Utilizing Fifteen Pylon class transport frigates, Amara was able to grab the projectile (That was a quarter the size of the moon) and stop its descent on the defenseless planet below. The fifteen ships took up a permanent position as the fifteen pylons of Cornucopia as it would later be called. The landmass came to a floating stop above one of the vast oceans of earth.
Aftermath
After Deimos came to settle above the ocean, Amara Fon Draxus approached the united government of Earth. As recompense for saving the planet and using the majority of her ships (and now having them stuck there due to gravitational pull), Amara requested ownership of Deimos. This caused mass upset amongst the citizens of earth and a series of negotiations that would take five long years began. Lady Amara used her political experience and eventually won the negotiations.
Succession
The varying people of Earth were appeased by the negotiations Amara put forth. She was given ownership of Deimos. Her vast wealth went to work, importing water from off-world, reforming and terraforming the surface of the meteor. White-gold towers and futuristic buildings rose slowly alongside lakes and snow capped mountains. A great metallic ring was affixed to the landmass, a climate control device for the floating landmass. Neon danced across the skyline of the newly built city, a singular spaceport and docking bay was built onto the ring (which would later spread to encompass the ring).
